Congrats to Arlington-based Food Vendors Plugged on Edible DC!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ARLINGTON-BASED FOOD VENDORS PLUGGED ON EDIBLE DC

I’m an avid farmers market shopper and supporter so whenever I learn about local Arlington-based food vendors doing well and getting recognized, it’s worth a mention on this blog. This is why I was happy to see EdibleDC, a quarterly magazine focused on the farmers, growers, fishers, home cooks, chefs and others who energize the DC area’s culinary community, including the Arlington Farmers Markets on their noteworthy list of winter markets worth a visit.

EdibleDC Winter 2019

“The Best Brunch in the DMV”

In its Edible Stories post, which makes you want to “eat, read, drink, and think” as their tagline suggests, the Arlington Farmers Market is included in a mouth-watering list of amazing food vendors worth a brunch visit this winter season.

Angela Farkas, the market’s manager, is quoted saying:

“People who come here have been coming here forever, and some vendors have been selling here since the beginning.”

Another Arlington food vendor worth noting

Also while reading EdibleDC’s curated food vendor list, I noticed yet another Arlington-based food vendor — Ozfeka Catering — which focuses on Anatolian food culture.

A quick search finds that Anatolia is:

… a geographic region bounded by the Black Sea to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Aegean Sea to the west, and the bulk of the Asian mainland to the east. Anatolia comprises most of modern Turkey.

Just wow!

It’s fascinating to learn the bounty of all the different types of foods available in our area.

It’s great being a foodie in Arlington (like me!) and knowing we have such a fantastic and diverse array of both locally-grown foods and internationally-prepared dishes from around the globe within walking or quick driving distances.

Congratulations again to the Arlington Farmers Market and Arlington-based Ozfeka Catering for having their “Edible Stories” featured on EdibleDC!

And, check out my blog post on other farmers markets in Arlington (note it’s from 2018, so the hours might not be correct).
