Arlington’s Instagram Style

I regularly scour Instagram to spotlight cool happenings, curious people, and interesting stuff throughout Arlington, Virginia. Here’s a rundown of the best recent Instagram finds including:

  • Highlights from Clarendon Day
  • A look back at Rosslyn in the late ’50s
  • And a look forward to National Voter Registration Day. Remember your vote is your voice … but you have to be registered to be able to vote!

Good Ol’ Rosslyn

This #TBT shows off what one of our Arlington, VA, neighborhoods used to look like in the late 1950s. Did you know that Rosslyn used to be an industrial center? My, how things have changed!

Clarendon Day Face Painting

Jumping forward in time, a whole neighborhood came together to celebrate at the annual Clarendon Day on Sept. 22. My guess is that this little boy was ecstatic when he saw himself in the mirror!

Clarendon Day 5K

Clarendon Day wasn’t just a festival of fun and games … and music and food … to celebrate our community. There was also the Clarendon Day Run with both 5k and 10k races. Here a little girl came out to support her dad, with a beautiful smile and handmade sign to encourage him across the finish line! Did you run? Know someone who did? Here are race results.

National Voters Registration Day

Last but not least, we look forward to the future. National Voters Registration Day is Tuesday, Sept. 25! Follow in Bill Nye the Sciene Guy’s footsteps and make sure to vote so that you can help shape our Arlington community and our country. Only a little more than half of voting age Americans actually voted in the 2016 general election. Please register and vote!

That’s it for this Arlington Instagram go ’round!

Until next time! And if you want more of The Arlington Life on Instagram, you can follow me on IG @meg_ross_arlingtonvaagent.
